The day of the unveiling of the Official Competition for the 2018 LUX Prize at the 53rd Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (read news and watch video), the European Parliament's initiative organised a panel for industry professionals focused on the new generations.
Under the title "How to Win Generation Z for European Film?", a group of selected professionals and experts were invited to discuss the main issues and worries of the industry regarding the topic. After having been opened by vice-president of the European Parliament Evelyne Gebhardt and Czech Republic Creative Europe Desk's Daniela Staníková, speakers Helga Trüpel (vice-chair of the Committee on Culture and Education at the European Parliament), Martina Dlabajová (vice-chair of the Committee on Budgetary Control at the European Parliament), Christine Eloy (managing director of Europa Distribution), Thomas Fransman (cinema programmer and member of the board of Picl) and Kiri Inglis (marketing manager at MUBI) and moderator Michael Gubbins engaged in a vivid and insightful talk.
