Vice-President of the European Parliament Evelyn Regner was present at the 76th Cannes Film Festival to hold the “Let’s Talk Democracy: A European Union Perspective on the Cultural and Creative Sectors” seminar, in which the institution's current approach to the film industry was discussed, and which included announcements on the LUX Audience Award. Having already registered 30,000 votes and becoming the biggest audience prize in the world, the award is set to be unveiled on 27 June in the European Parliament Brussels. Next year, the date will change to March because of the European elections.
