Jean-Paul Rappeneau, one of France’s best known directors, is in Florence attending the 2003 France Cinema, the film festival dedicated to French cinema.
The directors during the festival presented his film Bon Voyage [+see also:
film profile] , a brilliant political satire, which chronicles events in 1940, when the French Government fled to Bordeaux after the German invasion.
About the festival he believes that it is a good way for French filmmakers to meet, and an occasion to present and discover new films.
