Colombian director Mónica Taboada-Tapia talks to us about her documentary Alma del desierto, that revolves around an elderly transgender woman who lives amid the arid landscapes of La Guajira and who is struggling to obtain an ID document for herself, in order to enable her to vote in the region's political elections. The film has been presented as a special event in the 21st Giornate degli Autori of the Venice Film Festival.
