Maarja Johanna Mägi is well-known to Estonian audiences, appealing to both adults and children alike given her versatile, and accessible work on local television. Her break came when Elmo Nüganen took a punt for his popular film trilogy Melchior the Apothecary (2022), which won Mägi the Best Film Actress accolade at the Estonian Film Awards, which followed on from her recognition as a Black Nights Star at the prestigious, annual film festival held every year in Tallinn. She can be next seen taking a starring role in the Aurora (2025). Another stand-out credit is Ergo Kuld’s Faulty Brides (2023).
