Mexican director Mayra Hermosillo talks to us about her very personal film Vainilla, set in 1980s Mexico and centring on an eccentric family consisting only of women, who fight to save their home from foreclosure, all seen through the eyes of an eight-year-old girl. The film is screening in competition in the 22nd Giornate degli Autori at Venice.
