, a debut that merges biblical undertones and western elements while feeling uncannily contemporary. Inspired by Stewart O’Nan’s novel published in 1999, the film delves into the aftermath of the Civil War to follow a veteran whose American dream of a new life in Friendship, Wisconsin quickly turns into a nightmare. Van Dusen shared her joy of creating with a strong production team and of having John C Reilly as cast, along with Kristine Kujath Thorp and Gustav Lindh.
