Warsaw, November 2013. Marky collects his mother from an allotment on the city outskirts. It’s too cold to stay there. With them there is a stray dog called Koleś who has been the mother’s companion. They go to Warsaw, where they’ve been evicted from their flat as a result of brutal housing policies. Since the mother doesn’t want to get rid of Koleś, she also loses her place at a homeless shelter. She chooses to remain homeless rather than lose her beloved pet. Frustrated and angry, Marky drives Koleś away. He soon feels remorse and tries to find the dog, without success. The mother ends up moving into a squat. Meanwhile, 11 November comes around, and with it the Independence March organized by nationalists. Riots break out near the march’s route. Masked assailants attack the squat. Marky and his mother experience the trauma of being victims of assault. The final scenes are played out against the background of actual events and include documentary footage shot on 11 November 2013.
