Baldvin Zophoníasson, also known as Baldvin Z, is one of the most prominent directors on the Icelandic film scene, and garnered international acclaim with the drama Life in a Fishbowl [+lee también:

, currently in the post-production phase, tells the story of 15-year-old Magnea and her eye-opening encounter with Stella. Stella's no-holds-barred lifestyle drags them both into a world of drugs, which brings serious consequences for each of them, and their relationship. Twelve years later, their paths cross again, and a reckoning between them becomes unavoidable.

The young Magnea is portrayed by actress Elín Sif Halldórsdóttir, who previously appeared in several episodes of Zophoníasson's 2015 TV crime-drama Case. Co-protagonist Eyrún Björk Jakobsdóttir, who plays the role of Stella, is making her acting debut.

The director and songwriter Birgir Örn Steinarsson, who previously collaborated on the script for Life in a Fishbowl, are behind Let Me Fall's script. Moreover, Zophoníasson has again chosen to work with a number of trusted and experienced colleagues – namely, director of photography Jóhann Máni Jóhannsson, who has partnered up with him on various film and TV sets (Life in a Fishbowl, Jitters, Island Songs, Reynir Sterki: Beyond Strength [+lee también:

), as well as composer Ólafur Arnalds, creator of the soundtrack for the British crime-drama Broadchurch and the US sci-fi TV series Philip K Dick's Electric Dreams.

Produced by Júlíus Kemp and Ingvar Thordarson for Reykjavik-based firm Icelandic Film Company in co-operation with Solar Films (Finland), with a budget of around €3 million, this new 100-minute feature has received financial support from the Nordisk Film & TV Fond and the Icelandic Film Centre, the national film agency.

Let Me Fall will be distributed by local firm Sena Films and will be ready for theatrical release on 7 September 2018.
