Six projects were selected as part of the second college’s fifth 2018 session for an advance on earnings from the CNC. Among them is Mathieu Amalric's Serre moins fort mélo(drama), which will be the director's eighth feature after Barbara [+lee también:

), an adaptation of Laurent Mauvignier's novel about veterans of the Algerian war. Produced by Synecdoche, the film, which is due to be co-produced by Artemis, has already received funding from Eurimages.

Also due to receive an advance on earnings is Les Cris, the sixth feature film by Raoul Peck, adirector accustomed to major festivals (in competition at Locarno in 1988, Cannes in 1993, Berlin in 2005, the Directors' Fortnight in 2000, the Berlinale Special in 2010, the Panorama in 2014 and out of competition at Berlin in 2017 with The Young Karl Marx [+lee también:

The results of the first college of 2018’s final session were also announced, with five first feature film projects selected: Garçon chiffon by Nicolas Maury (co-written with Sophie Fillières and Maud Ameline - produced by CG Cinéma), Le Grand Marin by the Russian actress Dinara Droukarova (screenplay by Raphaëlle Desplechin and Gilles Taurand - produced by Rouge International), La Troisième Guerre by Giovanni Aloi (co-written by Dominique Baumard - produced by Capricci Films and Bien ou Bien Productions), Vacances by Béatrice de Staël and Julien Léo Wolfenstein (produced by Films Grand Huit and RNB! Films) and Mémoire pour Anne Grandjean qui changea d’habit, de nom et de sexe by Jean-Claude Monod (production: Les Films d’Ici).

Lastly, the CNC has unveiled the first list of projects selected under the new funding scheme for genre films. Targeting fantasy, science fiction and horror, the 2018 selection (the 2019 edition will focus on musicals) has awarded funding of up to €500,000 to La Nuée by Just Philippot (screenplay by Jérôme Genevray and Franck Victor – production: Capricci Production and The Joker Films), Ogre by Arnaud Malherbe, (produced by Gloria Films) and Else by Thibault Emin (produced by Tobina Film).
