RAI Com is about to set off for the Marché du Film at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival clutching a catalogue that includes films which are still showing in Italian theatres, such as the thriller I’m Not a Murderer [+lee también:

, alongside a batch of eagerly awaited titles that are still in production, such as the new outings by Gabriele Salvatores and Gabriele Mainetti.

The public broadcaster’s international sales arm also has high hopes for Ordinary Happiness [+lee también:

by Daniele Luchetti, adapted from two short stories by Francesco Piccolo, who also penned the screenplay together with the director. It tells the story of Paolo (Pierfrancesco Diliberto, aka Pif), who has just one hour and 32 minutes to tie up the loose ends in his life. Also among the cast are Renato Carpentieri and Thony. At the Italian box office, Ordinary Happiness – produced by IBC Movie and RAI Cinema, with the support of the Sicily Film Commission – has grossed €1.8 million after seven weeks on release. 

Another literary adaptation, the thriller I’m Not a Murderer, is the sophomore feature by Andrea Zaccariello, based on Francesco Caringella’s novel of the same name. In it, Riccardo Scamarcio plays deputy police superintendent Francesco Prencipe, who is accused of killing one of his friends, a judge. Performing alongside Scamarcio in the movie are Alessio BoniEdoardo Pesce and Claudia Gerini. The picture, staged by Pepito ProduzioniViola Film and RAI Cinema, with contributions from Italy’s Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and backing from the Apulia Film Commission Foundaiton, hit screens on 20 April and is currently in seventh place in the box-office charts.

RAI Com is also publicising the fact that buyers will be able to watch the trailer for Freaks Out [+lee también:

by Giorgio Diritti, a biopic of the great Italian painter Antonio Ligabue, one of the true masters and leading figures of the international contemporary art scene, toplined by Elio Germano, who is flanked by Oliver EwyPaola Lavini and Gianni Fantoni. Production duties are being handled by Palomar with RAI Cinema, with contributions from the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, and backing from the Emilia-Romagna Film Commission (see the article).

by Federico Bondi, the winner of the FIPRESCI Prize in the 2019 Berlinale Panorama. Dafne, played by Carolina Raspanti, is a feisty thirty-something with Down syndrome in this understated but powerful film produced by Vivo Film and RAI Cinema, with contributions from the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, and backing from the Tuscany region and the Lazio region.
