The Visegrad Film Forum (VFF) in Bratislava is one of those glocal – focused on local production but boasting a global perspective and ambition – events that entice guests with their exciting atmosphere and rock-solid programme. The organisers invite seasoned and distinguished filmmakers from all over the world so that they can pass on their expertise, and maybe also their life experience, to younger colleagues.
The five-day gathering, the ninth edition of which starts on 10 March, this year offers a diverse array of lecturers – ranging from a director and an editor to a DoP. They are: helmer Costa-Gavras (The Confession, Z); sound editor Eddy Joseph, who has worked on Bond films (Casino Royale [+lee también:

entrevista: Carlos Reygadas

Apart from master classes and case studies, the VFF brings together seven different schools not only from the Visegrad region, but from the entire world. The 2020 class will be made up of students from the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo, the University of Arts in Belgrade, the Yerevan State Institute of Theater and Cinematography, the Sahara Lab, the Film and TV Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts Bratislava, the Film Academy of Miroslav Ondricek in Pisek, the Eszterházy Károly University in Eger and the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School in Katowice. Aptly, the main venue for the gathering is the Film and TV Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts Bratislava. You can get accredited for the event by clicking here.
The organiser of the ninth Visegrad Film Forum is Boiler NGO. The list of co-organisers includes the Film and TV Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts Bratislava. Financial support was provided by the Slovak Audiovisual Fund, the International Visegrad Fund and Nadácia SPP.
