El Marché du Film anuncia la selección de Goes to Cannes
- La séptima edición del mercado de proyecciones de work-in-progress invita a seis festivales internacionales a mostrar proyectos de todo el mundo en Cannes
Este artículo está disponible en inglés.
For the seventh year running, Cannes' Marché du Film (14-23 May) is organising the “Goes to Cannes” initiative. As is the case every year, six highly reputed film festivals from all over the world will have a chance to showcase film projects that are currently at the post-production stage. The selected works in progress will have their first chance to be introduced to key professionals, such as sales agents, distributors and festival programmers, and admission is only granted to accredited Marché du Film guests.
The Goes to Cannes screenings will run from 18-20 May in various different venues. Each of the screenings will last two hours, during which time six different creative teams will present their works and a first glimpse of their upcoming projects. Among the clutch of festivals, there are a few previous participants, such as the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, the New Horizons International Film Festival, the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, the Hong Kong – Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF) and the Los Cabos International Film Festival, while the Málaga Film Festival is “going to Cannes” for the first time.
Jérôme Paillard, executive director of the Marché du Film, stated: “Cannes is proud to offer these incredible festivals a platform to help the filmmakers reach a wider business audience. With Goes to Cannes, we also wish to give recognition to these festivals for the work they do to develop cinema and creativity.”
