The 2020 edition of TFI - Torino Film Industry will kick off on 17 November and is set to unspool entirely online on the event’s dedicated streaming platform. The schedule of meetings for this third edition – which will include the 5th edition of the Torino Short Film Market organised by Italy’s National Centre for Short Film, as well as masterclasses and meetings curated by the TorinoFilmLab and the Production Days organised by the Film Commission Torino Piemonte – will unfold across an eight-day period, running until 24 November, and will offer a wide range of events, panel discussions, pitches and one-to-one meetings for film and audiovisual professionals.

The official programme is available on the event website, where interested parties can register free of charge, up until midday on Monday 16 November, should they wish to follow the various activities proposed or organise one-to-one meetings via the platform.

There will be a great number of partners enriching this year’s edition with their presence at the various scheduled events, which have been organised in collaboration with ANICA, RAI Cinema, Sky Arte, the Italian Doc Screenings Academy – DOC.IT, CNA Cinema e Audiovisivo and AGICI (Italy’s Association of Independent Film-Audiovisual Industries).

For its part, the Torino Short Film Market will present around 30 projects hailing from as many countries (including the UK, Germany, Spain, Belarus, the USA, Argentina, Israel, Iran, South Korea and Australia) and will offer up, among other activities, 6 different pitching sessions - Oltrecorto, Short Comedies, Distributors Meet Buyers, Pitch Your Fest!, VR Stories and the Sonego Prize – alongside panel discussions, workshops, a short films video library and market screenings.

There will be four masterclasses curated and organised by the TorinoFilmLab within the TFI event: in addition to the previously announced “Pitch Realization Workshop” panel discussion, led by Christopher Mack, Director of Creative Talent Investment & Development at Netflix International Originals, accredited audience members can also follow a talk in which Argentine director Lucrecia Martel will unveil one or details on her project Chocobar (backed by TFL). The Lebanese author and director Michel Kammoun will share a few tips on script development, while Hungarian screenwriter and story editor Eszter Angyalosy will reveal the best techniques for ensuring viewers fall in love with TV series. And the first edition of Up & Coming Italy, a new line-up dedicated to young, emerging Italian producers and bearing the TorinoFilmLab stamp, will close with the presentation of its six projects, also within the context of the TFI.

Last but not least, the Production Days organised by the Film Commission Torino Piemonte will unfold across a 4-day period, broadcast from the Italian Circle of Readers’ headquarters. The initiative will host panel discussions and presentations dedicated to documentaries, first and second works, and TV series, as well as educational sessions.
