Grzegorz Molda’s first feature revolves around a troubled youth and his hope for a fresh start. Molda’s short film Time to Go was presented in the Cannes Short Film Competition in 2017 and showcased his talent for directing actors as well as his affinity for a highly authentic, realistic style. In his upcoming feature, The Hatcher, he will be putting those skills to good use again.

The story, penned by the helmer himself and Monika Powalisz, a Polish fiction and series writer, revolves around two characters. Marta is a tutor in a training flat, and Karol, her young charge, is serving his sentence in a young offenders’ institution. He wants a fresh start, and both his stay in the facility and Marta will help him to get back on his feet again. The Hatcher will introduce Michał Zieliński as Karol, and dancer and performer Agnieszka Kryst as Marta.
