Memory, traditions, and respect for nature, beauty and finite resources are the guiding principles behind the I Luoghi dell'Anima - Italian Film Festival, an event dedicated to the memory of the poet and screenwriter Tonino Guerra which aims to shine a light on and reward audiovisual works, both fiction films and documentaries, which are specifically inspired by the spirit of a particular landscape.
Devised by Guerra’s son Andrea and directed by Steve Della Casa and Paola Poli, the festival is named after the homonymous “extended museum” which Guerra (who has written for the Taviani brothers, as well as for Antonioni, De Sica, Fellini, Tarkovsky and Angelopoulos, among many others) created in his native town Pennabilli (Rimini, Italy), and is unfolding online via the Mymovies platform, from 18 to 21 March. The titles gracing the programme are divided between two competitions (Feature Films and Documentaries) and revolve around the themes of memory, Mother Earth and possible new worlds, including: Notturno [+lee también:

Stealing focus among the Special Screenings, meanwhile, we find Alessandro Bignami’s Torino 20venti - Storie da un altro mondo.
Awarding trophies for best film, photography, screenplay (the Tonino Guerra Prize), actor, score and set design, the Feature Films jury is presided over by director Ferzan Ozpetek, while that of Documentaries – which will reward the best documentary, as well as handing out the Tonino Guerra Centenary Prize – is led by director Terry George.
The I Luoghi dell’Anima Festival 2021 will unspool entirely online, on the Mymovies platform, which can be accessed free of charge here.
