) and adapted from the eponymous autobiographical novel from Robert Linhart (1978 – Éditions de Minuit), the script centres on a brilliant academic who is hired as a simple worker in a car factory in order to prepare for the revolution. When the higher ups force the workers to work unpaid extra hours, he finally sees a way to get involved in the fight. It’s the summer of 1968…

Produced by Antoine Rein, Fabrice Goldstein and Antoine Gandaubert for Karé Productions (which were already behind Rien de personnel), The Assembly Line is co-produced by France 2 Cinéma, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Cinéma and Belgian company Scope Pictures in co-production. Pre-bought by France 2, Canal+ and Ciné+, the feature film is also supported by the Nouvelle Aquitaine region and the Lot-et-Garonne department. It is worth noting that the score will be written by Danish composer Flemming Nordkrog. French distribution will be handled by Le Pacte and international sales by Indie Sales.
