by Paz Encina (Paraguay/Germany/Argentina/Netherlands/France/USA), the winner of the prestigious Tiger Award. The film takes place in the Paraguayan Chaco, the territory with the highest deforestation rate in the world. It is the story of the Ayoreo Totobiegosode people, told from the point of view of Asoja, a bird-god with the ability to provide an omniscient gaze through time, who becomes the narrator of this story developed at the crossroads between documentary and fiction.

by French filmmaker Mabrouk El Mechri.

Commenting on the results of this year’s edition, festival director Vanja Kaludjercic said: “We are immensely proud of the extensive range of this year’s Tiger Competition selection. Even though we were forced to host our 51st edition online, we were determined to provide the competition filmmakers who trusted us with their movies with a platform to enhance their visibility among the press and industry. We cannot wait to share these outstanding films with our audiences later in the year, in the way they were intended: on the big screen and in the presence of the filmmakers. Congratulations to all of the award winners.”
