After a successful edition last year, which had to be adapted due to the limitations imposed by the pandemic (offering alternatives such as a Virtual Cinema platform and numerous online and hybrid events), the LUX Film Days are back in full force this year. During the upcoming months, these three celebrated titles will be screened for free at various events organised in collaboration with the European Parliament Liaison Offices in the different Member States. Some of these screenings will be introduced by Members of the European Parliament and young local cinephiles who took part in the 27 Times Cinema initiative at the Venice Film Festival, becoming LUX ambassadors in their respective countries.

The culminating point of this campaign will be the LUX Audience Week, unfolding on 29, 31 March and 1 April, with simultaneous screenings from Brussels and other dozen cities across Europe, followed by Q&As with the film crews. These debates will be moderated by Cineuropa editor-in-chief Domenico La Porta, Stanislas Ide and Elli Mastorou, and live-streamed on the LUX Audience Award Facebook page. Tickets to the screenings are free and available on the participating cinemas’ websites on a “first come, first served” basis (you can find the list of cinemas below).

In the meantime, all future screenings will be regularly updated on the LUX Audience Award’s official website, where audiences can still cast their vote for their favourite films until 25 May. Moreover, by voting, participants will have the chance to win a trip to Strasbourg for the 2022 LUX Audience Award ceremony, which will take place on 8 June during the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, where the winner will be unveiled.
