, Robert Guédiguian returns to his favourite city, Marseille, and to the present day for his 23rd feature film, Et la fête continue, filming since 28 March.

The filmmaker reunites his three long time collaborators at the top of his cast: Ariane Ascaride (nominated for the Best Actress César award in 1998, 2003 and 2012; winner of the Volpi Cup for Best Actress in Venice in 2019 for Gloria Mundi [+lee también:

Also in the cast are other actors familiar from the director’s universe: Lola Naymark (nominated for the Most Promising Actress César and Lumière awards in 2005), Grégoire Leprince-Ringuet (nominated four times for the Most Promising Actor César award between 2004 and 2011), Robinson Stévenin (winner of the Most Promising Actor César award in 2002) and Alice Da Luz (Mali Twist).

Written by Robert Guédigian and Serge Valetti, the film set in Marseille centres on Rosa, a sixty-year-old who has dedicated her life to both her family and politics with the same sense of sacrifice. Everyone believes that she is unshakable, especially since Rosa is the only one who could secure the alliance of the Left on the eve of a decisive election. She handles it all rather well, until the day when she falls in love with Henri. For the first time, Rosa is afraid to commit. Between the pressure from her political family and her own desire to let go, the dilemma is difficult to bear…

Produced by Marc Bordure and Robert Guédiguian for Agat Films & Cie, Et la fête continue is co-produced by France 3 Cinéma and Italian company BiBi Film. Pre-bought by France Télévisions, Canal+ and Ciné+, the feature film is also supported by the Indéfilms, Cinémage, La Banque Postale Image and Sofitvciné Soficas. Filming will last seven weeks, with Pierre Milon as director of photography. French distribution will be handled by Diaphana.
