Julianne Moore will be presiding over the international competition jury at the 79^th Venice Film Festival (31 August-10 September 2022), tasked with handing out the Golden Lion for Best Film, as well as the other official prizes.

The US actress, who won an Oscar for Still Alice (2014), has played in more than 70 films during her career, and her talent has been rewarded at festivals of the likes of Berlin (for The Hours in 2002), Venice (Far from Heaven, 2002) and Cannes (Maps to the Stars [+lee también:

This year, six other highly renowned figures will be supporting Moore as she picks the winner of the Golden Lion: Argentinian writer-director-producer Mariano Cohn (The Distinguished Citizen [+lee también:

The jury of the 79^th Venice Film Festival will hand out the following official awards to the features in competition: the Golden Lion for Best Film, the Silver Lion – Grand Jury Prize, the Silver Lion – Award for Best Director, the Volpi Cup for Best Actress, the Volpi Cup for Best Actor, the Special Jury Prize, the Award for Best Screenplay and the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best New Talent.

The official line-up of the 79^th Venice Film Festival will be unveiled on 26 July.
