Four projects have been selected during the third 2022 session of the first advance on receipts committee (first feature films) of the CNC.

Written by the filmmaker and by Florence Rochat, the script (Grand Prize at the 2022 Best Script Award) centres on Hamid, who is part of a group of Syrian citizens scouring Europe in search of fleeing regime officials. Hamid follows the trail of Harfaz, his former torturer, alone in Strasbourg. His quest will plunge him back into his deepest wounds… Production is led by Pauline Seigland (read the interview) and Lionel Massol for Films Grand Huit. Pre-bought by Canal+ and Ciné+, the feature, which will be distributed in France by Memento and sold internationally by mk2 Films, will start shooting at the beginning of next spring.
An advance on receipts was also given to Lads by Julien Menanteau, who penned the script together with Nour Ben Salem. The story revolves around 17-year-old Ethan, who becomes an apprentice jockey. Production duties will be handled by Laurent Lavolé for Gloria Films Production, and the shoot will start in April 2023.
The CNC will also support Muganga by Marie-Hélène Roux (co-written by Jean-René Lemoine) and led by Petites Poupées Productions, as well as the animation project Jim Queen by Marco Nguyen and Nicolas Athané (co-written by Simon Balteaux and Brice Chevillard) which is produced by Bobbypills.
