The European MFI Script 2 Film Workshops programme, organised by the Mediterranean Film Institute (MFI), is commencing once again this year on the Southeast Aegean islands. The MFI received a total of 150 applications from 244 talented professionals in the fields of writing, directing, producing and script editing. These applications were for participation in the film, series and documentary labs, as well as for trainer traineeships.

The organisers have now made their selection of 25 feature-length scripts, four TV-series scripts, six documentary projects and eight trainees without a project of their own, who will receive script-development and team coaching. All of the participants, along with the trainers, staff, guests and students attending the programme, will embark on a journey to the captivating volcanic island of Nisyros. This gathering will create a community of over 100 individuals, all dedicated to intensive work and mutual learning. The inaugural session of the 2023 MFI Script 2 Film Workshops is scheduled to take place entirely on location in Nisyros, from 23 June-6 July.

The MFI Script 2 Film Workshops initiative is supported by the Creative Europe – MEDIA programme. It is funded by the General Secretariat for the Aegean and Island Policy, the Municipalities of Nisyros and Rhodes, and the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation ERT SA.
