, a project developed within its programme by Amanda Nell Eu. Excitingly, LIM's pan-European initiative has gained the support of both Screen Ireland and the Region of Hamburg (MOIN), thus expanding its reach and impact in the realm of independent cinema.

Year after year, LIM has crafted a unique space for filmmakers and screenwriters, providing them with what can only be described as “a room for play”. Within this space, creators have the opportunity to explore their ideas from fresh perspectives, transforming them into vital cinematic experiences. LIM stands out in Europe for its fusion of high-level script development and deep-rooted research in the areas of human and cognitive sciences.

Over the past few years, luminaries like Tony Grisoni (known for his work with Terry Gilliam and Michael Winterbottom), Vinca Wiedemann (renowned as the story supervisor for Lars von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg) and Lucile Hadžihalilović (notable for her films Innocence and Evolution [+lee también:

, and her close collaboration with Gaspard Noé) have contributed to LIM's evolving methodology. This methodological approach has grown consistently, drawing inspiration from LIM's StoryTANK and the collective experiences gathered during the "boosting ideas" workshops conducted in partner countries.

At the core of LIM lies a fundamental belief that independent filmmakers can harness strength and creativity through collaborative processes. LIM aims to establish a robust international network comprising filmmakers, screenwriters, producers and emerging film professionals. This network shares a common goal: to create films that matter, movies that narrate stories necessary for us to comprehend the evolving world. These are films that resonate with our deepest emotions and aspirations, transcending mere entertainment, particularly in times of societal perplexity.

In an era overshadowed by ecological challenges, LIM advocates the use of limitations as a central tool in the creative process. This approach encourages filmmakers to delve into the essence of their projects' strength. LIM's workspaces are immersed in the tranquillity of nature, close to the rhythmic pulse of the ocean, and within villages where human interactions regain their significance and depth.

LIM welcomes first to third feature-film projects from individuals residing in the European Union, Eurimages countries, non-EU countries participating in the Creative Europe programme, as well as the UK. More information can be found here.
