The fifth edition of Dot.on.the.map Industry Days, the platform facilitating co-production, training and networking for film-industry experts, is scheduled to take place in Limassol, Cyprus, from 18-20 April. It will be hosted within the context of the 22nd Cyprus Film Days International Festival, running from 12-20 April.

Dot.on.the.map Industry Days acts as a meeting ground, drawing together producers, directors and scriptwriters from the Mediterranean and nearby regions, uniting them with film experts from around the world in Limassol. The platform provides filmmakers with an opportunity to present their most recent feature-film projects while facilitating connections with global industry professionals. The event comprises two primary sections: the Dot.on.the.map Meeting Point, a co-production forum, and Dot.on.the.map Cinema Talks, an array of educational events tailored for film professionals.

During the co-production forum, producers and directors will introduce their latest feature-film ideas to delegates from the global film community. Engaging in collaborative sessions and individual meetings, participants will delve into potential partnerships with other filmmakers, international producers, financiers, sales agents, broadcasters, distributors, and representatives of festivals and film-funding bodies. The organisers anticipate this initiative developing into a dynamic platform that nurtures both creative and financial collaborations. The aim of this expansion is to strengthen the progression of filmmaking in Cyprus and the wider region, positioning the event as a pivotal centre for films originating from the vicinity of the Mediterranean.

The current call for projects commenced on 19 December and will continue to accept submissions until 1 February. Dot.on.the.map Meeting Point will handpick six to eight feature-length fiction-film projects currently at the developmental and financing stages for presentation to a curated group of international film-industry experts. These projects hail from Mediterranean countries spanning the three adjacent continents linked to Cyprus: Europe, Africa and Asia. The event caters primarily to film-industry professionals, such as producers, financiers, sales agents, distributors, representatives of film festivals and funding organisations, development specialists, and broadcasters. The forum operates in collaboration with Agora – Thessaloniki International Film Festival. For the general rules, selection criteria and the application process, please click here.

Regarding the Dot.on.the.map Cinema Talks, consisting of a series of master classes, panel discussions, seminars and workshops conducted by renowned industry experts, it will be accessible to film-industry professionals and accredited festival attendees. The schedule of events will be revealed shortly.

The Cyprus Film Days International Festival is an institutional event of the Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Culture and is organised by the Department of Modern and Contemporary Culture in collaboration with the Rialto Theatre.
