The results of the first call for projects under the Council of Europe’s new Pilot Programme for Series Co-Productions have just been announced. Following an evaluation by independent experts meeting online, the Council of Europe, home of Eurimages, has decided to support seven series co-productions with a total amount of €3,000,000. Of the seven projects supported in this session, almost two-thirds (64%) of the series creators are women, and with ten national, regional, or minority languages used.

The series are Puberty, created by Leticia Dolera (whose first feature Requirements to Be a Normal Person [+lee también:

Maddalena Ravagli and Leonardo Fasoli, a production by the Netherlands' Submarine Productions with Belgium's Menuetto Film, and pubcasters ZDF, France Télévisions and RAI; Greater Adria, created by Nebojša Taraba and Simona Nobile, a production by Croatia's Drugi Plan with Italy's Fabula Pictures, Germany's Nadcon Film and Belgium's Lunanime; This Is Not a Murder Mystery, created by Kathleen Maes, a production by Belgium's Panenka with Ireland's DeadPan Pictures and pubcasters VRT, NPO, ZDF, SVT, NRK, YLE, DR and RÚV; Favàritx, created by Lluis Illescas, a production by Spain's TV ON with Portugal's Volf Entertainment and Spain's Empatic Comunicacion y Marketing; as well as the second season of Interstellar Ella, an animated series created by Adam Long, produced by Belgium's Fabrique Fantastique with Canada's Apartment 11 Productions.

The Pilot Programme for Series Co-Productions is a three-year initiative of the Council of Europe (read news). It supports high-quality series made as international co-productions and aims to empower independent producers and foster new relationships.
