Fiction and documentary features, series, VR, AI, CGI, 3D, 2D, hand-drawn and puppet animation, as well as live action: it’s all represented in various shapes and sizes in the official 2024 selection of pitch projects set to be presented at the m:brane youth content financing and partnership forum in Malmö, Sweden. A total of 25 projects from 18 countries stretching over four continents have been chosen, with their intended target audiences ranging from 3-18 years of age.

Seven of the selected projects are part of a special collaboration with the Raoul Wallenberg Institute, with which the m:brane forum has devised an initiative labelled “Human Rights & Children’s Rights Under the Microscope”. Raoul Wallenberg Institute representative Professor Morten Kjærum will present these handpicked titles as part of a special address and will also award a special certificate to the most deserving project. An additional seven projects share German involvement as part of this year’s m:brane country in focus. Apart from the main line-up, an additional five projects will be part of the RealYoung Development workshop, all of them documentaries and being introduced at a closed session.

From 13-14 March, the main pitch projects will be showcased with most of the teams physically present. As usual, a special award of €2,500 will go to the best, most convincing and even most artful pitch presentation, as determined by a secret undercover jury of seasoned experts. Since its inception in 2007, over 400 projects have been pitched at the m:brane platform, with over 60% eventually being realised and reaching screens across the world.
