Handed out for the first time, the Audience Award of the 56th edition of the Directors’ Fortnight (which took place as an integral part of the 77th Cannes Film Festival) has singled out Universal Language by Canada’s Matthew Rankin, a film being sold by Belgium’s Best Friend Forever.

ficha de la película] by Spaniard Jonas Trueba took home the Europa Cinemas Label (handed out by a jury of exhibitors to the best European film in the parallel section). Staged by Spanish outfit Los Ilusos Films and co-produced by France’s Les Films du Worso, the feature is being sold by Memento International.

Finally, the SACD Award, handed out to one of the French movies selected in the Directors’ Fortnight, was bestowed upon This Life of Mine [+lee también:

ficha de la película] by the late Sophie Fillières. The feature was produced by Christmas in July and is sold overseas by The Party Film Sales.
