The 15th edition of New Horizons Studio+, a training programme for directors and producers working on their debut or sophomore feature films, will take place between 18 and 21 July during the 24th New Horizons International Film Festival in Wrocław. The event is organised by the New Horizons Association and the Creative Europe Desk Poland.
This year, New Horizons Studio+ has selected eight director-producer duos along with their respective projects. Half of these duos represent Poland, including a co-production with the Czech Republic, while the others come from the Netherlands, Romania, Spain, and Ukraine. These pairs will have the chance to pitch their projects in a contest on the final day. Over the four-day programme, participants can expect a comprehensive line-up, featuring lectures, consultations, and opportunities to learn from industry experts across various aspects of filmmaking, who will guide them in project development and promotion.
The schedule boasts an impressive line-up of consultants and speakers, including Álvaro Vega, CEO of DobleSentido and member of EAVE, who will provide guidance on project dossiers; Gabriele Brunnenmeyer from the MIDPOINT Institute, a script mentor, pitching coach, and project consultant who will offer valuable tips on effective story pitching, and Joanna Solecka, the head of Alphapanda Warsaw, who will focus on film marketing and audience design strategy, with Anna Ewa Dziedzic from Crew United further rounding off the list of experts.
This year, New Horizons Studio+ has partnered with several leading organisations, including EAVE—one of the top professional training, project development, and networking organisations in Europe, known for organising the EAVE Producers Workshop and the EAVE Marketing Workshop— as well as the MIDPOINT Institute, the London Film Academy, CANAL+ online, the Producers Guild of Poland, the Romanian Cultural Institute, the Cervantes Institute, the Embassy of the Netherlands in Poland, and Crew United.
