Hailing from a modest background, newly qualified in law, and madly in love with Garance (Noée Abita), Mehdi (Sami Outalbali) is spending the summer with his in-laws. As soon as he arrives, a conflict breaks out between Garance’s family (Laurent Lafitte and Élodie Bouchez) and their two housekeepers (Laure Calamy and Ramzy Bedia) who are illegally employed on a yearly basis. Tempers flare, but Mehdi thinks he can oversee negotiations between the two parties and help everyone see reason. Until the situation escalates…
Classe moyenne is produced by Julien Madon, Aimée Buidine and Pauline Attal on behalf of Cheyenne Federation, in co-production with Belgian firm Umedia. Pre-purchased by Canal+, Ciné+ and C8, the feature film also enjoys support from the Occitanie region as well as from the SOFICA company La Banque Postale Image. Distribution in French cinemas will be steered by Tandem, while the identity of chosen international sales agent will be announced at a later date.
