ficha de la película], the debut feature by renowned short-film helmer Filip Peruzović, is set to premiere at the 40th Warsaw Film Festival (11-20 October). It will compete in the 1-2 Competition programme, which showcases first or second features by filmmakers coming from all over the world. So far, Peruzović has several shorts under his belt, the most notable being the 2018 title Sinking Objects, which was also part of the award-winning omnibus film Deep Cuts [+lee también:

The protagonists of the feature are two siblings, Nikola (played by Filip Šovagović) and Saša (Nina Violić), who reunite in their childhood home after their mother’s funeral. They only have three days to clean the house, since Saša has to go back to Canada, where she lives. Nikola has a hard time separating from their mother’s possessions, which bear burdensome memories, and this frustrates his sister. Nevertheless, the two bond over the games they played in their childhood as well as alcohol, but unspoken and unresolved problems still linger in the air.
Along with Violić and Šovagović, Vinko Kraljević also appears in the film. The script was co-written by Peruzović and Nikolina Bogdanović, who also served as the costume designer. The movie was shot by Tomislav Sutlar and edited by Iva Ivan. Dino Topolnjak handled the production design and Ivan Zelić the sound design.
Peruzović stated that the film was realised in an atmosphere that was both professional and family-like. “It enabled us to tell the story of these two ‘middle-aged children’ with lots of love and no compromises, and the audience will evaluate whether they are good or bad,” he said. “Therefore, I am especially glad that such a big festival has recognised our story.”
Good Children is a Croatian-French co-production. It was produced by Tena Gojić for Dinaridi Film and co-produced by Kevin Bily for Rikki, while Ivan Glebov served as the executive producer. It was supported by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre and Croatian Radio-Television.
