Overseen by the professional online Coprocity platform (read our interview) which works in partnership with 19 co-production markets, the 3rd Coprocity Development Prize has been awarded to Stink Eye, a first feature film project by Colombia’s Cristina Sánchez Salamanca.

Out of the 10 pre-selected contenders (read our article), the jury chose to single out "a story full of freshness and humanity which breathes new air into the coming-of-age genre by blending lightness with authenticity to follow in the wake of a young teenage girl contending with her parents’ divorce and the discovery of her sexuality."  The film is produced by Duván Duque and Paola Pérez for Colombian firms Continente Pictures and Inercia Películas, in co-production with Mireia Graell for Spanish outfit Ringo Media.

A Special Mention, meanwhile, was won by A White House by Italian director Francesco Romano, "a sincere and classic project with great narrative potential, revolving around a woman’s encounter with a Camorra boss. It tells the very human story of two lonely souls entrenched in a local culture steeped in patriarchal values." Production on this first feature film is steered by Raffaella Pontarelli for Roman firm Amarena Film, with French outfit Bocalupo Films in co-production.

The jury was composed of international sales agent Lucies Desquiens (Charades), Italian producer Alessandro Amato (Dispàrte) and the author of these lines. The Coprocity Development Prize, endowed with 3,500 euros, will be officially awarded during the Les Arcs Film Festival’s Co-Production Village (running 14 – 17 December).
