The Sarajevo Film Festival continues its dedication to advancing regional storytelling with the €50,000 Council of Europe Series Co-Production Development Award. Granted during CineLink Drama 2025, this prestigious prize supports high-quality drama series produced as international co-productions, fostering cross-border collaborations and bringing shows into line with European standards of excellence.
The initiative is part of the Pilot Programme for Series Co-Productions, backed by 19 ministries and national agencies across 18 countries, including the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The programme aims to empower independent producers, nurture culturally diverse narratives and expand the reach of Southeast European series globally.
Maša Marković, head of Industry at the Sarajevo Film Festival, highlighted the award's significance: "Independent producers have been vital in expanding this dynamic market, and we hope this award will encourage co-productions of linguistically diverse series that resonate with global audiences."
CineLink Drama participants gain access to workshops, pitching sessions and industry networking opportunities, ensuring the selected projects transition from development to production. Past successes include acclaimed series like The Last Socialist Artefact [+lee también:
