The 19th edition of TV Drama Vision is set to take place from 28-29 January at Draken in Gothenburg. As one of the most influential events in the Nordic TV industry, it will bring together over 700 delegates from 35 countries. This year’s central theme is “Collaborate, Create, Captivate”, logically focusing on innovation, collaboration and creativity. The extensive programme promises new insights, stimulating conversations and a renewed focus on addressing key challenges in the global TV industry.

TV Drama Vision 2025 will feature a remarkable line-up of speakers and sessions covering important issues in TV drama, with additional panels now added to the original schedule (see the news). Pre-sessions on 27 January will provide industry professionals with an opportunity to engage in high-level discussions. Among them is a keynote by Dr Angus Finney, a fellow at Cambridge University. In his session, “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice: AI’s Impact on the Entertainment Value Chain”, Finney will explore how artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping TV production from creation to distribution. He will thus address the opportunities and challenges that AI presents to the industry.

Andrew McIntyre, director at Morris Hargreaves McIntyre, will lead the session “Deeper than Demographics”, delving into the motivations behind audience behaviour. Drawing on his expertise in psychographics, McIntyre will discuss how understanding audience choices on a deeper level provides insights beyond traditional demographic profiling, creating a more personal connection with viewers.

Tatjana Samopjan’s keynote, “Leading Like a Woman: Creative Leadership in Times of Uncertainty”, will explore the intersection of feminine leadership and creativity within the TV industry. Samopjan will challenge traditional leadership narratives, discussing the evolving role of leaders and the essential qualities for driving innovation in a fast-changing world.

TV Drama Vision will feature several panels exploring the evolving TV landscape. One significant session, “Producers of the Now – Agile, Passionate, Original”, will involve Nordic producers from a new generation discussing how they balance creative vision with production demands while sustaining their careers amid global competition. This panel will offer valuable insights into the skills needed to thrive in a dynamic industry.

The “Engagement First: Audience Design and Marketing” panel will examine the shifting dynamics of audience engagement. Experts from marketing, content creation and filmmaking will discuss how understanding audience behaviours in the early stages of series development is vital for success. In today’s competitive, streaming-dominated market, tailoring content to audience preferences while maintaining genuine connections is essential for success. Meanwhile, the “How to Nurture Top Talent” panel will focus on strategies for identifying, developing and retaining top talent in TV and film. Industry leaders, including Silje Riise Næss, Abe Coelho and Ole Marius Araldsen, will explore ways to build sustainable careers for talent while fostering creativity and innovation in television production.

An exciting highlight of TV Drama Vision will be the presentation of the Nordic Series Script Award, which honours outstanding Nordic television scripts. The nominees include Thomas Vinterberg and Bo Hr Hansen for Families Like Ours [+lee también:
