On 14 February, the Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA) announced the winners of the 2025 IFTA Awards. The gala event, hosted by Kevin McGahern, was held at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre and broadcast on RTÉ One.

The evening saw a glittering array of talent in attendance, including Cillian Murphy, Saoirse Ronan, Andrew Scott, Ruth Negga, Nicola Coughlan, Sharon Horgan, Kneecap, Liam Cunningham, Chris O’Dowd, Caitriona Balfe, Patrick Gibson and Alison Oliver, among others.

ficha de la película] (Ireland/Belgium) took home the coveted Best Film Award, while Cillian Murphy, last year's Oscar winner for Best Actor, also won Best Actor in a Lead Role for his performance in the film, which he also produced. Small Things Like These world-premiered as the opening film of last year's Berlinale, screening in competition. The movie’s screenplay, adapted by Enda Walsh from Claire Keegan’s acclaimed book, won Best Screenplay at the IFTA Awards.

ficha de la película] (Ireland) enjoyed major success, securing Best Director for Rich Peppiatt as well as wins in the categories of costume design, editing and casting. This year marked the first time that the awards recognised Irish casting directors, with Carla Stronge receiving the honour.

On the television front, Bad Sisters was a big winner, claiming Best Drama, Best Director (Dearbhla Walsh) and Best Script (Sharon Horgan). Meanwhile, Say Nothing also performed strongly, winning Best Actress in a Lead Role (Lola Petticrew), Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Hazel Doupe) and Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Tom Vaughan-Lawlor).

Colin Farrell won Best Actor in a Lead Role (Drama) for his portrayal in the Batman spin-off series The Penguin (USA). Brían F O’Byrne took home Best Supporting Actor (Film) for his performance in the Vatican-set drama Conclave [+lee también:
