British actor Sean Harris has joined the cast of Polyorama, the new feature helmed by Graeme Maley and produced by Iceland’s Sagafilm, a Skybound Entertainment company, in co-production with Reykjavík-based outfit Fenrir Films.

Polyorama marks the first on-screen collaboration between Harris and Maley following an extended phase of development for the film. The two artists have spent the past three years working together in order to bring the project to fruition.

Set inside the Reykjavík City Theatre, the story revolves around Ingrid, an ageing Icelandic star of stage and screen, who is preparing for the premiere of her new show, but whose performance is disrupted by the unexpected arrival of a foreign journalist whose presence triggers a backstage confrontation steeped in regret and recrimination.

Principal photography kicked off on 21 July on the City Theatre’s main stage and within its rehearsal spaces. The project is being lensed by Magda Kowalczyk, with post-production —including editing, sound design, and score— handled in-house by Sagafilm.

“I first worked with Graeme on two films over a decade ago,” producer Arnar Benjamín Kristjánsson told Cineuropa. “After three years spent developing Polyorama, it’s a joy to be reunited with him, and to have Sean Harris bring this deeply emotional story to life.”

and major international titles such as Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation and Mission: Impossible – Fallout.

Founded in 1978, Sagafilm is Iceland’s leading independent production house, with recent credits including Operation Napoleon and the acclaimed series The Minister. Fenrir Films is known for backing auteur-driven co-productions revolving around Icelandic narratives with global appeal.

Polyorama is produced by Arnar Benjamín Kristjánsson, with Kjartan Thor Thordarson and Skarphéðinn Guðmundsson serving as executive producers.

Meanwhile, Skybound Entertainment, which acquired Sagafilm in 2023, is continuing expansion of its international footprint with this latest addition to its portfolio. The US-based firm —co-founded by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman— is recognised for its work across comics, television, film, and games, and is currently enjoying success with titles such as the season 3 of Invincible, Dime tu nombre and Vaka.

The pic is backed by the Icelandic Film Centre and will aim for a premiere on the international festival circuit following the completion of post-production in early 2026.
