The CEE Animation Workshop has launched its call for the 2026 edition, set to run from February to October 2026, with four one-week modules (two online and two on-site in different European countries). Open to international professionals, with a focus on participants from countries with low production capacity, the year-long programme supports the development of animation projects across formats, from short films and TV series to features, hybrid works, and XR.

For its eighth edition, the workshop introduces a brand-new strand: Script Consultants in Animation, a two-year pilot programme designed for individuals aspiring to specialise in script consulting for animation. “We have developed a comprehensive and very practical course, together with our tutors and animation dramaturges Phil Parker and Rita Domonyi. With more than 50 years of experience in writing for animation combined between the two of them, we are confident that the training will be a success,” said Saša Bach, Managing Director of the CEE Animation Workshop.

In addition to project-based teams, the workshop continues to welcome a limited number of career-oriented participants without a project, who will join existing teams as shadow producers and work on long-term strategies for their careers in animation.

Led by renowned professionals such as producers Réka Temple (Cinemon Entertainment, Hungary) and Annemie Degryse (Lumière Group/Beast Animation, Belgium), alongside Parker and Domonyi, the workshop combines lectures, pitching practice, case studies, and individual mentoring. Participants will also take part in the CEE Animation Forum 2026 in Czechia, and, for the first time, one module will be hosted in Norway.

Since its creation, the workshop has trained over 250 participants and developed more than 80 projects, while welcoming contributions from over 200 guest experts from across the animation industry.

The deadline for applications is 3 November 2025. Detailed guidelines and the application form are available here.
