Eleven projects have been selected in the fourth 2025 session of the CNC’s advance on receipts scheme.

Standing out among the three titles chosen by the third committee (for fourth features and beyond) is L’enragé, which will be the seventh feature by Emmanuelle Bercot, a filmmaker familiar with major festivals such as Cannes (Standing Tall [+lee también:

An adaptation of Sorj Chalandon’s novel of the same name, L’enragé is set in 1934, as 56 boys revolt and escape from the juvenile penal colony on Belle-Île-en-Mer. A manhunt begins, and all are caught - except one... Production is handled by Les Films du Worso and Pathé, with filming slated to start in February.

An advance on receipts also goes to Mariage au goût d’orange, which will be Christophe Honoré’s 16th fiction feature. The director has presented seven films at Cannes, including Love Songs [+lee también:

Also among the successful applicants is Philippe Faucon with Fille de…, the filmmaker’s 11th feature. He has proven popular, among other places, in Cannes’ Directors’ Fortnight in 2015 with Fatima [+lee también:

Dedicated to second and third features, the second committee of the advance on receipts has notably selected the project Capitaine Mbaye by Joël Karekezi (who rose to fame at Toronto in 2018 with The Mercy of the Jungle [+lee también:

ficha de la película]), shepherded by Tact Production and focusing on a Senegalese UN peacekeeper stationed in Rwanda in 1994 as the genocide looms.

Another advance on receipts will go to La symphonie du sens, the second feature by Charlotte Le Bon, after Falcon Lake [+lee también:

ficha de la película] (unveiled in 2022 in the Directors’ Fortnight). Production will be handled by Tandem.

The CNC will likewise back the documentary A Road Less Travelled by Alexander Murphy (whose debut, Goodbye Sisters, is due for release in French cinemas on 18 February), a sophomore feature that will be staged by Goodseed Productions.

Finally, the CNC has selected four debut features for an advance on receipts: La tempête by Victoria Lafaurie and Hector Albouker (produced by Odessa Productions and Cinefrance Studios), 16 mesures by Yvan Georges-Dit-Soudril (steered by Leto Films), Pour toi je reviendrai by Cyrielle Raingou (produced by Artisan du Film) and the animated project Bergeronnette by Lucrèce Andreae (backed by Miyu Productions).
