Expanded with an additional day from this year onwards, the 23rd edition of the Stockholm Industry Days, which will take place during the Stockholm Film Festival (5-16 November), focuses on visionary talks, dynamic master classes and inspiring interplay for and by professionals of the Swedish, Nordic and international film industry. A number of work-in-progress and pitch projects will also be presented at special sessions. The dates to save are 10-13 November.
Opening the event is the Vision of Swedish Film panel, the annual deep dive into the current state of the national and ever-evolving cinema landscape. Moderated by film critic Hynek Pallas, the panel is constituted by Swedish Film Institute CEO Anna Croneman, director Baker Karim and Jenny Gilbertsson, co-production executive at Film i Väst. This session is followed by a performance lecture by visual artist/filmmaker Tova Mozard, whose debut feature ILOVERUSS plays in the festival’s documentary competition. The opening day will also unveil the latest projects from the Moving Sweden and Wild Card programmes, courtesy the Swedish Film Institute.
Masterclasses will be held by American auteur Benny Safdie, French Palme d’Or body horror grand mistress Julia Ducournau and Swedish acting dynamo and video game visionary Fares Fares. Safdie, recipient of the festival’s 2025 Visionary Award for works like Uncut Gems and Good Time, will also present his latest feature The Smashing Machine at the festival, where Ducournau’s Alpha [+lee también:

Returning to the Industry Days after several well-received presentations, British director Mike Figgis will peek “Behind the Scenes – MegaDoc”. The project offers a rare glimpse into Figgis’ documentary MegaDoc via his unique access to the set of Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis.
The works-in-progress and pitch sessions will present upcoming Nordic film projects to industry professionals. In Nordic Wave, feature film and series projects will be pitched to an international jury. The competition, focused on first to third feature projects, aims to champion new creative voices, including a SEK 400,000 post-production grant for the main winner. In the category Film Stockholm Debut & Gotland Debut, five first feature filmmakers working in the regions of Stockholm and Gotland will present their projects. A special Works in Progress section will present five upcoming Swedish projects. Additionally, the short film pitch competition 1 KM FILM, a Stockholm tradition since the first edition in 1990, will return, while Stockholm Nordic Shorts, a new competition section dedicated to Nordic short filmmaking, will launch this year.
