The 11th edition of the awards took place on Saturday at the Grand Théâtre de la Ville de Luxembourg. Jointly organised by Film Fund Luxembourg and Luxembourg’s Filmakademie, the ceremony was held in the presence of the Minister for Culture, Eric Thill, and the Mayor of the City of Luxembourg, Lydie Polfer.
After the votes were cast by the members of the academy, the ceremony saw the victory of Eric Lamhène’s Breathing Underwater [+lee también:

The film won the Best Luxembourgish Feature Film (Fiction, Animation or Documentary) Award, after having its world premiere in the 1-2 Competition of last year’s Warsaw Film Festival and going on to screen at several other gatherings, such as the Lecce European Film Festival, where it received our own Cineuropa Award (see the news). A Luxembourgish-Belgian co-production staged by Samsa Film, Breathing Underwater also won the Award for Best Screenplay for Eric Lamhène and Rae Lyn Lee.
The other main winner of the evening was Loïc Tanson’s The Last Ashes [+lee también:

The movie, also a debut fiction film, takes us back in time to 1854 to tell a wholly female story of revenge about a girl who decides to defy an unfair and violent tradition which forces women into silence and, ultimately, submission. The Last Ashes is also a Luxembourgish-Belgian co-production staged by Samsa Film.
The other winning films include Payal Kapadia’s Cannes Grand Jury Prize winner All We Imagine as Light [+lee también:
