The teams behind the four projects chosen to access feature film production support in the 14th edition (2025 - 2026) of Biennale College - Cinema hail from China, Italy, Mexico and the USA. Following on from the screenplay workshop which ended on 5 December, Friday 9 January will see the online pre-production workshop unspooling, which is then due to wrap on 16 January.

At the end of the pre-production workshop, production on these four micro-budget feature films will truly kick off, with a 200,000-euro contribution from the Biennale going to each of them. The four films will then be presented in the 83rd Venice International Film Festival (running 2 – 12 September 2026). Biennale College Cinema is supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture’s Film Department, with additional backing from Chanel and academic collaboration from the Gotham Film & Media Institute and TorinoFilmLab. Training activities within the initiative are funded by the Creative Europe - Media programme. Alberto Barbera is the festival director while Savina Neirotti is programme head.
