HOME FOR THE WEEKEND

by Hans-Christian Schmid

synopsis

Marko is in his mid-30s and has lived in Berlin ever since he started studying - far enough away from his parents Gitte and Günter whose middle-class lifestyle never really made him feel comfortable. He visits his parents once or twice a year, mainly to let them spend a few days with their grandchild, Marko’s five-year-old son Zowie. Marko is hoping for a more or less calm weekend trip to his provincial hometown. But this time there’s news: after having homeopathic treatment, Gitte, who has been a manic-depressive since Marko’s childhood, feels healthy again for the first time in ages...
