ISLAND OF THE HUNGRY GHOSTS
synopsis
Poh Lin lives in the middle of the Indian Ocean, on Christmas Island, which was originally inhabited only by millions of migratory crabs. She works there as a trauma counsellor with refugees held in a high-security facility, behind closed doors. A hybrid and powerful film in which the wild beauty of the landscapes is confronted with the horror of day-to-day life in the detention centre.
