CHRONICLE OF THE STOLEN LAND
by Marie Dault
synopsis
In Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, people living in shanty towns can now obtain the ownership of their land in exchange for an account of their lives in the area. Now we will see how the Chavez Law, by ordering the regularization of the "Barrios" (favelas districts), has given rise to thousands of narratives about life in one of the most run down and forgotten parts of the capital, which for the first time ever is attempting to gain its place in the history, the geography and the political world of the city.
