After years of detention, a “magician”- a fortune-teller - made famous by Sicilian local TV stations, tries to come back to his previous life. However, the will to reintegrate into society clashes with people’s mistrust and especially with a civil society completely transformed by the time. On the one hand, such a situation puts him at constant risk of being rejected and marginalized; on the other, it allows him to get in touch with a part of himself he has never explored before. If the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself, a path made of both physical and mental abandon is going to bring him from the margins of the city to the innermost nature of Sicily, to the core of Etna.
