ROOTS
by Tea Lukač
synopsis
Passengers on the back seat of a moving car. Thick fog. Conversations about hornet’s nests, lonely Pilipino farm workers, masked children fresh from carnival, petitions against nuclear waste, singing competitions, cemetery visits and roads to home. Seven long static shoots. Vast woods surrounding the place separating each of the seven journeys. Wind and water. Lost origin and unclear destination. Still passengers and ever moving landscape. Quietness and rumbling. Intimate and public. Transience and eternity. Strangely wondrous and occasionally a funny film.
