THE DANCE

by Pat Collins

synopsis

Michael Keegan Dolan is one of the most exciting choreographers working in dance and theatre today. We are currently in post-production with an observational, feature documentary by the director Pat Collins, which follows the staging of Keegan Dolan’s latest show ‘Mám’. The show is a collaboration between the virtuoso concertina player Cormac Begley, the European musical collective s t a r g a z e and 12 international dancers who came to the Dingle Peninsula in a unique confluence between soloist and ensemble, classical and traditional, the local and the universal. This film follows this process over 10 weeks from the first day of rehearsals to the opening night performance at Dublin Theatre Festival.
