synopsis
An all-girl Catholic boarding school for the wealthy Austrian elite. Faith is declining. The head of the institution, an energetic young nun, fights with ardor against it. Martha, one of the nun’s favorite pupils, is a devoted girl. Encouraged by the nun, Martha is given a hairshirt and taken to the abandoned upper floor.
