CATANE

synopsis

After investigations, a small village in the Romanian countryside appears to have an unprecedented number of residents receiving financial aid for disabilities. Social services dispatches a team of inspectors to investigate. Upon arrival, they discover what seems like a fairytale village, where every inhabitant seems to have a unique disability, yet everyone is striving to make ends meet. Moved by the resilience of the villagers, the inspectors rally the Presidential Bureau to increase aid to the village. However, upon returning to retrieve missing paperwork, they uncover a very different reality.
