SPRING

by Rostislav Kirpičenko

synopsis

In occupied Ukraine, the Russians ban the burial of executed Ukrainian civilians.
Andryï, a 35-year-old priest, sees his church turned into a morgue. Forced to store the bodies there before they are consigned to mass graves, he resists in secret : he identifies the dead, returns them to their families, and gives them a dignified burial. But winter freezes the ground and the threat grows. How can he continue to resist?
